Just a 5 Minute boat ride from Phuket is Naka Island – a small island where the Naka Island Resort & Spa is located. Because of the fact that the island is so quaint and small, it is the perfect spot for retreat and relaxation. The 5-star hotel, which is part of the Luxury Collection, has a total of 67 Pool Villas in 4 different categories. We stayed in the Seaview Pool Villa, which offers a fantastic view of the Phang Nga Bay and the charming landscape of the islands.
Seaview Pool Villa
The premises of the villa measure to a very liberal 450 meters squared. The villa is surrounded by beautiful and very well-maintained plant landscapes. Additionally, every villa is accompanied by its own private pool. The villa’s design is one-of-a-kind and very inviting. The bathroom is situated in a sheltered outdoor area and creates a real jungle-like atmosphere. In the garden, there is also another large bathtub, from which you can enjoy a great view of the other surrounding gardens. In general, the Naka Island Resort is very in touch with nature and emphasizes tranquility and privacy. Next to the Seaview Pool Villa, there are also the Tropical Pool Villas, the Beachfront Pool Villas, and the Royal Horizon Pool Villa, which offers a private infinity pool and sundeck with space for 4 people on the 1600 square meter area.
Restaurants & Bars
The Naka Island Resort & Spa has two different restaurants and a bar to choose from. The Tonsai Restaurant is open the entire day and offers a buffet as well as à la carte options. I want to especially emphasize the excellent range of delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes, of which we tried several. The second restaurant, “MyGrill,” was open every evening and offers primarily fresh seafood and barbecue. At the tip of the island, and right next to our villa, is the Z-Bar. This is definitely the best place on the island to watch the impressive sunsets and to enjoy the fresh ocean breeze. The bar serves light snacks and smaller dishes, as well as a great variety of cocktails.
Pool & Beach
Even though we preferred to relax at our private pool at the Seaview Villa, I would still like to mention the beautifully-designed pool landscape that is located in the middle of the hotel properties, which fits in seamlessly with the surroundings. From this pool, you can enjoy a view of the ocean, and as well as (very comfortable) loungers, there is also a hammock there where we frequently relaxed and enjoyed the sun.
Activities at the Naka Island Resort
Apart from all the relaxing and sunbathing, a bit of a program shouldn’t be missing from the agenda. We were very positively surprised that the hotel offers such a great weekly program. Those who like to participate in athletic activities can either go to the in-house fitness center, or to one of the Yoga, Pilates or Thai Chi courses. For those who like to exercise their creativity, there are Batik courses, DIY gel candle courses, and also Mixology and Thai cooking courses, among others. You won’t miss out on the opportunity for water activities either. At the resort, you can loan out kayaks, stand-up paddles, and jet skis.
The spa at the Naka Island Resort is located in a secluded area of the villas, surrounded with water and beautiful vegetation. Relaxation is pre-programmed here. There are a total of four treatment rooms that offer different therapies for the body, mind and soul. The Spa Naka offers a variety of botanical treatments, which are carried out using Italian or local Thai products. There is also yet another pool here, which you typically have all to yourself.

The Naka Island Resort is the right choice for anyone who wants to have a relaxed and private vacation in the heart of nature. In my opinion, the resort is especially suitable for couples. We felt very comfortable and at ease at the Naka Island Resort, and the service was also very attentive, accommodating and discreet. You can also get a better impression of the property and surroundings from the images. 🙂
