In the recent years, a lot has changed in fashion. Especially the Office-wear has evolved tremendously. There are a lot of designers who specializes on chic office looks and true to the motto „clothes make the man“, they style and dress successful bankers, lawyers or CEO’s. Most of the online Shops now have an extra category for office pieces like Asos, Mytheresa, Zalando & Co. Those classic pieces are not only great to style sophisticated and chic office looks, they are a huge fashion trend, too.
Sometimes I’m a little sad, that there is no dress code for working from home. That’s why I love to add style elements from classic office looks to my day-to-day outfits. Of course, the various basics and the styling essentials differ depending on the industry and the position. In the creative sector, for example, there are endless opportunities to style the semi-formal, yet professional look.
Today I show you a look, that is inspired of the „Smart-Casual-Business dress code“ and very easy to style. The fundamental basis of the look is this light blue business blouse. This essential definitely belongs in every woman’s wardrobe- whether you’re working in the economic sector or in a creative agency. It is the basis for many different office looks that are neither stuffy nor intrusive.
I styled my light blue business blouse from Noisy May with a black wool vest from Edited the Label. I paired it with a bright, casual Jeans from Asos and my favorite black heels from Steve Madden (btw: they are on sale right now, get them here). For some nice details, I put one side of the shirt in my jeans. This emphasizes the waist and stretches the leg optically. A look I would wear to a business meeting as well as to an event or in everyday life, too. Eventually, I would replace the high heels with some chic black loafers- I think that would work amazing, too. A thoroughly wearable look that is neither too simple nor too chic.
In order to show you how many different possibilities you have with such a blouse, I’ve styled 5 different looks for you that are all sophisticated yet classy and chic. You see, this basic is the perfect staple piece and very versatile since it works for many different looks and dress codes.
I particularly like the 4th look, which is fashionable, edgy and still classy. Look 3 is cute, comfortable but still professional. The dress from Edited the Label is perfect for combining business blouses, don’t you think? Look 2, however, is a classic office look with a knee-length skirt, black heels and a blazer. But the details are crucial, as in this case, the beautiful scalloped hemline of the skirt. Look 5 is ideal for casual Fridays, or generally for creative professions without any strict prescribes dress code.
Which look do you like most and what are you wearing at your job? Let me know in the comments and enjoy your day!
